University of Wisconsin at Madison – Construction Club
9January2007
Many construction schools have student-run organizations that provide students with opportunities for leadership, community involvement, and fellowship, while learning more about the construction industry. The University of Wisconsin at Madison Construction Club is a good example of a student-run construction club. According to the website,”
In 1997 the Construction Club was established to serve the needs of students in the Construction Engineering and Management program. The primary goal of the Construction Club is to foster contacts between UW engineering students and the design and construction industry. The Construction Club is an umbrella organization for student chapters of AGC (Associated General Contractors), NECA (The National Electrical Contractors Association), and MCAA (The Mechanical Contractors Association of America).
Some of the major activities that students can get involved in include The Construction Club Banquet, Careers in Construction Night, meetings with construction professionals, and the Civil Engineering Department Golf Outing.”
